Abdominal Therapy is indicated for any body with a need for reproductive, digestive and lowback support.
This includes:
- Relief of pain in the sacroiliac joint, lumbar spine and hips
- Misalignment of the pelvis
- Pelvic pain and menstrual irregularities
- Support prior to conception
- Fertility challenges for all genders
- Prenatal support at 20 weeks pregnant until birth, to support an easeful transition
- Postpartum support at 6 weeks postpartum and 3 months post-cesarean birth
- Peri/Postmenopausal support
- Pelvic organ prolapse/tilt support
- Overactive bladder challenges
- Liver and gallbladder support
- E.D. and prostate health
- Circulation and nerve sensation to the legs and feet
- Chronic digestive challenges
- Sciatic sensation
Clients will find relief from congestion within the entire abdomen, bringing increased circulation, nerve support, lymphatic flow and vitality back to center. In a full 90 minute to 2 hour Abdominal Therapy session, along with treatment to the front of the abdomen and the entire back of the body, the effective self-care routine is taught to each client. This element greatly enhances the effectiveness of the work.
What to expect in a session:
Sessions can range from 1 to 2 hours in length, depending on client desire.
For clients only wanting treatment to the front of the abdomen, sessions are 1 hour. For most conditions, it is encouraged to receive treatment to both the front and back of the body, as our digestive and reproductive functions are supplied by nerves along the spine and sacrum, and bodywork to correct pelvic alignment is done to the back of the body.
To also incorporate deeper, relaxation massage, please request to book a 2 hour session.
You will receive an in-depth Health Intake to complete prior to our session. We begin by connecting for a few moments about your personal journey.
You can dress down to your comfort for the bodywork; bare skin to the torso and loose fitted bottoms are preferred. We then begin the bodywork to the front of the abdomen.
Massage to the upper abdomen releases fascia of the diaphragm and upper digestive tract; massage on the lower abdomen begins just above the pubic bone and focuses on bringing relief from congestion to pelvic bowl, bringing organs back to center. Our work on the upper abdomen releases the diaphragm and upper digestive tract; work on the lower abdomen begins just above the pubic bone. Next, we walk through performing the 5-10 minute self-massage routine to do at home.
For 90 minute and 2 hour sessions, bodywork to your entire back is provided, honing in on the connective tissue attachments and nerve supply of the lumbar spine, sacrum and coccyx. We complete the work with releasing the hips and glutes.
You will be given an illustrated 1-page instruction to guide you at home for your self-care routine, and written instruction for any recommendations you resonate with.
Per client desire and need, specific recommendations may include:
- Perineal steam instruction and appropriate herbs to use
- Castor oil pack instruction
- Herbal recommendations
- How to use a bellywrap/Faja
- Postural changes
Notes for clients prior to booking:
- It is best to not perform the lower abdominal massage while menstruating. Please schedule for after your menstruation.
- If you are working to conceive, it is best to perform the massage after menstruation and before ovulation.
- Work can be done around mesh if surgery for hernia has been performed. It is important to know where this mesh is. We work around hernias and not directly over them.
- Pessaries must be taken out prior to the massage.
- It is best to wait 6 weeks postpartum via vaginal delivery and 3 months post-Cesarean birth.
- It is best to wait 6-8 weeks post-surgery to the abdomen.
- For chronic digestive challenges, it is best to wait until after a flare-up has ceased to perform the massage.
- I cannot perform work to the lower abdomen in the presence of an IUD, as this may dislodge the device, nor with Essure Implantable Birth Control.

Holistic Pelvic Care™/Energetics of Creativity™ is a combination of internal (intravaginal) myofascial release to the female-bodied pelvic bowl, and restoration of core energetic patterns for optimal creativity and well-being. |

Energetics of Creativity™: an energetic session for all genders, aiming to address imprints from birth, traumas, ungrieved losses and emotions, restoring core energetic patterns for optimal creativity, and well-being. |
1 hr |
$100 |
Holistic Pelvic Care™ (HPC™) is a bodywork and energetic practice developed by Tami Lynn Kent, MSPT. HPC™ bodywork is the holistic practice consisting of physical and energetic tools designed to evaluate, restore balance, and enhance vibrant flow in the pelvic bowl of the female body by working with a woman’s core patterns. HPC™ bodywork is the internal (intravaginal) myofascial release of the female pelvic floor fascia.
My intention as a practitioner is to empower clients as they reclaim the space of their pelvic bowls and remove blockages to their creativity and wellness. This work is designed to refresh and decongest the physical and energetic holdings of our pelvic bowls. Rooted in balancing the core energetics within and accompanied by the internal myofascial release of the pelvic floor fascia, we create space during a session for the patterns that will best serve us going forward.
Fascia, the great Storyteller of the body, reveals patterns, imprints, emotions, memories, and lineages we individually carry. Fascia of the pelvic bowl thrives with flow; as the pelvic bowl has the capacity to hold and release, store and refresh, it is vital for our creative well-being and physical health to cultivate movement of this Spring within. With full consent, one can choose to experience fascial unwinding through her pelvic bowl in a session.
This internal myofascial release is designed to work with the female anatomy.
HPC™ aims to:
- Clear pelvic congestion and support flow.
- Restore pelvic engagement, fascial balance, and connection to center.
- Support organ health and alignment (best coupled with Abdominal Therapy for prolapses/uterine tilts, see Abdominal Therapy tab).
- Alleviate pelvic pain, symptoms, and menstrual imbalances.
- Alleviate low back pain caused by internal pelvic floor restrictions.
- Increase libido, natural vaginal moisture, and ability to orgasm.
- Support life transitions (i.e. menopause).
- Prepare for pregnancy.
- Support healing for miscarriage, birth loss, and birthing trauma.
- Support healing from your own birth story.
- Fortify energetic connection with your children, no matter their age.
- Address effects of cancer treatment.
- Resolve trauma imprints and occupy one’s own pelvic space.
- Establish energetic boundaries.
- Balance the embodied yin/yang, inward/outward presence within.
- Move beyond the binary fracture into wholeness and creative potential.
What to expect in a session:
Sessions are between 45–60mins. Typically, between 3–6 sessions are recommended to address a condition or holding pattern.
After completing a short intake and connecting together on the holding patterns of your body, we will observe goals and decide what may be addressed during the session. Client will dress from the waist down and prepare for the session. We begin with an external assessment to address tender points. Following this, you may choose to consent to the internal (intravaginal) myofascial release; if you are not ready for this, we will continue with external unwinding and energetic work. Internally, I assess pelvic floor engagement and then flow into treatment, clearing holding patterns via myofascial release, guided prompts, and intentional breathing/awareness. As emotions and imprints reveal themselves, you are encouraged to share and together we will repattern and remediate. We end by debriefing findings and suggestions for care at home. This may include suggesting connecting with your primary care physician about obtaining a referral for pelvic floor physical therapy. Clients are encouraged to drink plenty of water after sessions. There may be soreness for a day or two, as well as energetic and emotional detoxing or change. You are encouraged to take care of yourself at home and hold space for the changes that follow.
At any point in the session, we can switch to solely energetic work (Energetics of Creativity™) and discontinue internal myofascial release.
Clients are encouraged at any point in their menstrual cycle to do this work.
This work is for folks 18+ years old, able to give their own consent.
Typically, between 3–6 sessions are recommended to address a condition or holding pattern.
Cautions and considerations:
- Internal work is not performed during pregnancy.
- It is appropriate postpartum once cleared to resume intercourse.
- Energetic work is only done beyond the first trimester of pregnancy.
- Sober & with support system (10+ years sobriety of significant substance dependency, including alcohol).
- If significant trauma is present, client must have a strong support system and have journeyed through counseling to address these traumas.
- If a client has had pelvic surgery and mesh in is place, this needs to be communicated.
The lineage:
Holistic Pelvic Care™ was developed by women’s health physical therapist of 20+ years and author, Tami Lynn Kent, MSPT. I am grateful to be directly trained by Tami and to have received her blessings to practice this work as an HPC™ practitioner here at Spa. Along with developing the techniques used in HPC™, Tami is a well known author, contributing to the field of women’s wellness and the lives of many women and families through her books: Wild Creative, Wild Feminine and Wild Mothering (Mothering from Your Center). HPC™ couples synergistically with Dr. Rosita Arvigo’s work in (Maya) Abdominal Massage. Feel free to see the Abdominal Therapy tab, to explore if this path is a good fit for you.

What is energy work?
Energy work is a holistic practice that involves moving and balancing the flow of energy within the body and mind to promote self healing, well-being, and personal growth. This form of therapy operates on the principle that everything in the universe is made up of energy and disruptions or imbalances in this energy can lead to physical, emotional, or spiritual ailments.
What are the benefits?
The benefits of energy work are vast. It has the power to alleviate stress, reduce pain, enhance relaxation, and support overall health and wellness. It also plays an important role in promoting emotional stability, fostering mental clarity, and facilitating spiritual connection. Energy work is not only about addressing existing issues but also about maintaining balance and preventing future ailments.
- Stress Reduction: Energy work techniques can help reduce stress by promoting relaxation and calming the nervous system. By releasing tension and promoting a sense of inner peace, energy work aids in managing stress levels.
- Pain Relief: Energy work targets specific points on the body to alleviate pain by stimulating the body’s natural healing mechanisms, releasing muscle tension, and promoting the flow of energy.
- Enhanced Immune Function: Promotes balance in the body’s energy systems by optimizing the flow of energy and removing blockages, energy work helps the body maintain its natural defenses against illness and disease, leading to a stronger immune system.
- Improved Sleep Quality: Energy work can create conditions conducive to better sleep, leading to increased energy levels and overall vitality by promoting relaxation and reducing stress and anxiety.
- Emotional Balance: Energy work addresses not only physical ailments but emotional imbalances by aiding the release of negative emotions. This promotes self-awareness and cultivates emotional resilience.
- Increased Energy and Vitality: By restoring the flow of energy throughout the body, energy work revitalizes and rejuvenates. Practitioners often report feeling more energized, focused, and alive after energy work sessions, as stagnant energy is cleared and vitality is restored.
- Support for Chronic Conditions: Energy work can complement conventional medical treatments for chronic conditions such as fibromyalgia, autoimmune disorders, and chronic pain syndromes. While not a substitute for medical care, energy work can provide relief from symptoms, improve quality of life, and support the body’s natural healing processes
- Mind-Body Connection: Promotes awareness of the mind-body connection, empowering individuals to take an active role in their health and well-being. By cultivating mindfulness and inner harmony, energy work fosters a sense of wholeness and integration, leading to greater overall health.
What to expect during a session?
Before each session, individuals will fill out a client intake assessment to aid in the direction of the session. Then there will be a discussion to help set goals for the individual’s treatment.
Sessions are conducted fully clothed, so please wear something comfortable. Based on the client’s preference, each session can be either hands-on or hands-off. Please be sure to tell the practitioner your preference before the session begins or if you change your mind during the treatment period.
During the treatment, some of the modalities used may include:
- Meridian Flushing
- Qigong Sound Healing
- Vocal Toning
- Energetic Light Therapy
- Therapeutic Touch
- Cranial Sacral Therapy
- Myofascial Release
After the treatment, there will be another discussion to help with further grounding and aiding the energetic alignment. This discussion will lead to a deeper understanding of oneself by looking into your blockages and different ways to empower you to create your own harmony within.
For deeper energetic cleansing, 90-minute treatment is recommended to allow adequate time for processing and grounding.
It is recommended to leave any jewelry and/or crystals at home during the session to prevent energy interference.
What is I-Ching/Yi-Jing?
The I-Ching or Yi-Jing, also known as the Book of Changes, is one of the oldest and most influential texts in Chinese philosophy and divination. Its teachings on change and interconnectedness can be deeply connected to energetic work.
Incorporating the wisdom of the I-Ching into energetic work can deepen our understanding of the subtle energies at play within ourselves and the world around them. By aligning with the principles outlined in the I-Ching, individuals can cultivate greater harmony, balance, and vitality in their lives, help navigate the complexities of energetic work, and harness the transformative power of subtle energies for healing and growth.
I-Ching casting is available upon request, and should be requested at least 24 hours before scheduled appointment time. This is to ensure the practitioner has enough time to cleanse before any divinations.
